Just Friends

So my Vacation has come and gone. I had the most amazing time with a guy who has been in my life for 5 years. Friends ask what is the deal with this relationship, well as of 11-4-2010 we are friends, still just friends but we've agreed that is all we want for a number of reasons. It's good in some respects and it sucks in others. The heart is crazy and it feels what it wants to feel. My heart feels extreme love but I have to respect that it won't get to express it with this person. I'll cry but I'll move on with my life in time. I'd rather feel nothing but I wouldn't be human if that where the case. I need to figure a lot out. Besides love, my life is suck in 1st gear and I gotta move on with mine. I want money and success and I need to figure out how this is done. Oh and the word No I choose to use it and not to hear it.

During the course of a relationship a number of barriers are crossed. There is the lust factor and then the I love you factor. The outcome of the lust portion is pretty obvious. The difficult part is the love. For me the specific person I speak of has had many mentions in my journal for good and bad reasons. I can admit that those strong feelings come from a place of love. I don't believe love shrinks; I think it changes and it grows larger. When we use the word love, what is the deeper intention for the word, Is it to sum up ones deepest affections in one word? When is the right time to use it? I've never been blessed with the opportunity to be in a traditional long term relationship. I can't be sure as to why at 26 I haven't be able to experience that. I always assumed that God just had something great in the works and it just wasn't my season yet. I also want to hear, see, and feel that the person I love truly feel the same. It's crazy because it's always felt right to me, but shouldn't I question him to ensure it feels the same to him? Look at me I am a catch

I was filling out a profile today and listing traits about myself. While I was listing these traits I came to this strange conclusion. I am 98% comfortable with who I am and how I look. My red hair that I hated having as a kid because it was different from the dark brown everyone else had. I love my hair and the color. I laugh when people just assume I dye it. My freckels that everyone pointed to and talked about are a cute feature. My skin color is pretty. I love these things about me. I love my style it's preppy, beach boy, trendy. When I get dressed, when I shop for clothes I know what I am doing. Fashion and creative environments is what I do well. I have an eye for this that look good and I can tell you when it looks like a hot ass mess. My prayer today is that the person I meet and fall in love with is one who is so confident and cool being themselves they are in love with the idea of me and love me for me and I love me for me. My hope is that people can get there esteem to where mine is. Love yourself, love others, but must of all we love.

Single Sucks

Ok My friends let me sit alone so I am getting depressed attempting to snap myself back into happy. I just hate the idea that on a Friday night I have no plans in stone. I hate being alone it's not a good feeling. I am about just stay in for the evening and eat something bad and watch a sappy movie that mirrors my current emotional state. I hate going places alone, who likes to arrive somewhere alone? I am almost 100% sure my friends in relationships have forgotten what it's like to be alone. The feeling of going somewhere and being the third wheel or going to meet friends somewhere and waiting for them to arrive. It just sucks in every single way you can think of. When you are young your parents worry about you, and make sure your basic needs are met, and ensure you have a healthy ego. When you get older you date and date to hopefully find the one; or the one of the moment, even though you want it to be the one forever. The point of all of that is to say you are looking for a partner. Someone to make you laugh and have your back in these down moments. Sure we singles can make ourselves feel loved with food and material possessions, some even use religion to cling too, but damn it I just want love. I bet if I watched an episode of sex & the city Carrie would have some cure for this feeling. My hope for the remainder of summer is that parts of my life that i have gotten use too grow and I grow. I feel when you get comfortable with things; life goes on and leaves you behind and thats exactly how I feel. I feel left behind. Everyone is in a decent job married or about to be. 26 has made me deal with the reality of adulthood. I feel like the last 6 years are a blur, where did the time go ? Do I even Have any single friends left?

Living all along

I've been very busy since my last official post "could it be". since last fall I was enrolled in a weekend intensive paralegal course and that along with my full time job took a lot of my time. I have also been working on a large event that is to take place in the fall. The one thing about keeping busy that love is that I don't have the time or energy to dwell on myself. Well today I had some time and did some thinking. My date went very well on April 14th and then nothing. I did not dwell on anything negative and finally received a text of apology for not hearing anything, which I accepted but WTF. That was what I wanted, successful confident and low key and interested. I guess for me I try not to focus on the obvious but hello what jackass wants to be alone. I am 26 which is sort of young but 30 is ticking ever so close and I am not the type to love the one i'm with I don't want to settle for less then I deserve.

Dating is so much fun, its's exciting to meet new people and discover other options. This is my 3rd scheduled date, I might reschedule number two since he asked for a rain date, which he might not get cause date number date 3 has caught my attention. He is just a nice guy who appears to be interested in me. We went on our first date last Friday and it was exciting. The entire date I wanted to scream with excitement. I won't give his name away just yet, he shall be known as Mr. Right Now !! He is 34 very mature and has his life together. He works in the medical field and he doesn't have one job but two !!. He has a car and did I mention two jobs (lol), We just discussed our lives and things of the current matter. The best part was when we were leaving I walked him to his car and long story short after a hug I received the greatest kiss of my life thus far. This kiss had momentum behind it, the kinda of kiss where you forget your name. Our next date is TBD to be determined when he is back form his part time job in Washington D.C.. So I'll keep you posted as to what happens or goes down. On another note in another relationship I have been strong and stuck to my guns true love doesn't hurt. For the moment I am Happy, Very Happy

The puzzle of life

When I was a kid I would dream about what my life would be like when I was older. I thought I drive a certain car and lead a life of sucsess as a lawyer. I guess I need to rethink my plan lol. What age are we when we lose sight of our dreams ? The older I become the faster the year goes by. Every memory seems to be so close but has happened years ago. My fathers death in 2004 and here we are 6 years later. God why can't time be like when I was a kid and seem like forever. My life is like a puzzle I have already placed a majority of the puzzle together but I am stuck attempting to figure out where to place these crucial pieces. Oh life you can be so great but so complicated.

Soul Mate

I've been avoiding contact with someone I considered very important to me. Long story short I've this person lives far away and even though I am willing to travel there and make it work I still can't get in his heart
Or better yet he dosen't want me there and it's clear as day to me now. He then tells me of another one of his friends and as I am listening I am hearing my situation explained to me. How can you take someones heart and just act as if it's business as normal. I am tired and want to move forward and find happiness. It's not fair if he still wants to maintain the sane type of relationship with me. I then find out he's with his ex again, damn how could I let love make a damn fool out of me. I had the nerve to think I was important to someone else. He flew here on my birthday and I felt or thought our connection had grown. Nope, very wrong oh well I am 26 I still have rime before I am one of those old looser's you see in the club trolling for love. Attention Mr Right: Reveal Yourself !!!

Common sense, WTF?

Is it me or have we as a human race lost our common sense? For those who don't follow, the Brian J. Turner Dictionary states that common sense: is a set of basic everyday rules, ideas, and or processes put in place to help life move along a lot easier. For example a phrase I always use at work is " work smart, not hard" why if you have a large project do some of us attempt to complete it in one shot? Why not break it down into smaller, more managable tasks? That would make total sense. It seems people are more stressed then they use to be. That's because we are two busy attempting to manage these busy lives and we fail to take care of ourselves. I work in a pharmacy and I would get a lot of work done if our customers would just use common sense when it come to there medical issues life would flow way easier.

Lower Merion

It's not a secret to those who know me that I went to school in Lower Merion School District k thru 12th grade. My entire famliy has for at least 4 generations. I am proud and boastful about that blessing. For me it has exposed me to so much that others never get to experince. With the recent allegations and lawsuits the district is facing it makes me laugh a bit because LMSD has always been a volcano of scandle ready to erupt. From racial redistricting to webcam privacy & students rights issues. It's seems for one of the most expensive school districts, money is not enough to buy common sense. The sad part is the students suffer at the hands of adults with useless egos!!! These issues are just the top of a very large hill of issues LM is facing. Truth be told I think it's important that they lose both cases. I hope if that is the case, an honest conversation on issues will occur and put to rest some of these problems.

Sex and City is like a guide to single life lol, I have seen every episode but just in case I have not. I just bought the complete show with every season on DVD. I intend to watch every episode and report on the lessons I am learning. For instance !!! I don't give a shit about random hook ups lol, not that I ever engaged in such behavior, what would people say ? Once you've been in love you see why a hook up just isn't worth cause, if you can find love it will sustain you as long as needed or lord willing forever. In episode 2 you learn what Mr Big tells carrie "you wanna be with the one that makes you laugh" that's true don't for get to add a long list of other needs/demands. 4 weeks in blah

Ok so we are 4 weeks into the new year and I am just starting to get a sense of where 2010 is going. I want so much, but I know patience is the only trait that will help me get to where I need to be. It's time to admit some faults. I have fallen off the work out wagon and I am feeling the side effects of the damage I am doing. I am fat !!! Stomach rolls and my t shirts don't fit and my jeans are extra snug. I also notice my mood and confidence are also affected. I am missing something in my life and I am consuming food all the damn time. I intend to get back to where I was and get back in shape. just venting back to our regular programming.

Class is going ok so far. I am learning an awful lot about myself and patience. I already knew this but in case you don't: life is a rat race. The person next to you at work or school doesn't give a damn about you or the goals you want to achieve. They care about one person and that is themselves. As much as this bothers my soul, I have decided until I run my own company or until I have reached the highest levels of whatever careerer path I will eventually choose that I am gonna do what it takes to be successful. Consider this the Gone With the Wind manifesto lol. You know the scene towards the end of part one when Scarlett goes back to Tara right after the burning of Atlanta. She comes home to find her mother dead, Her father is insane, and her life of riches and comfort are gone. She is dirt poor with not even a piece of food to eat. She marches outside to find something to eat, and as she bites into a turnip she spits it out. She Declares "As God is my witness, as God is my witness they're not going to lick me. I'm going to live through this and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again. No, nor any of my folk. If I have to lie, steal, cheat or kill. As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again." I'm with Scarlett she had balls and I think that what separates those who have nothing and the lazy from those who make moves in this world. I am going to be a force to reckon with so watch out world BJT is on his way !!!

My Date

So Last week I did something I technically have never done. I went on a date !!! Now I am going to have to censor my self because If this thing goes anywhere past a first date I don't want this held over my head [lol]. I met this person on an IPhone app and we chatted for a while before this date even happened, I guess after a few chat sessions he wanted to meet so I decided why the hell not. We meet at the FOX & The Hound in King of Prussia. This person Wasn't bad looking and Taller then I expected, I was a little late like 8 minutes but I got their at 8:38. We chatted for a little over 2 hours just asking questions and I learned a lot about this guy. I found him to be interesting but he reminded me of someone I use to date which could be a Good or a Bad thing. I will say I didn't feel that I'm in Love spark. I did feel the we could be friends vibe. Our date ended with each of us saying "we should do this again?" but not making any firm commitment to a future date. Here it is 4 days later and no call or text. I am guessing he wasn't that into me. I am not bugging over it though. I had a great time and proud that I did this. Bring on the rest of the people to date I am ready. The only way I am going to find the ONE is to DATE and meet New people. I'll keep you all posted on the status of my dates lol.

Loved it, loved it, what more can I say about this movie! I thought Meryl Streep's portrail of Julia Child was absolutely wonderful. Nora Ephron movies always have some message that she wants to convey through her characters to her audience. The main character, Julie Powell a young women questioning her purpose in life before she turns thirty. What is she to do? She makes it her business to cook all of the recipes in Julia Childs famous and groundbreaking cook book "Mastering The Art of French Cooking" in 365 days! The book has over 500 to choose from and she cooks them all. While cooking she starts a blog to document her progress and from this blog she gains a fan base. When all is said and done Julie has discovered herself and her muse for writing. Again I say a wonderful film for anybody question their purpose in life. Go rent or buy it today !!

The pomagrante martini

Ok so my new favorite drink is the pomagrante martini, it's replacing the brokedown cosmo of last year. Ok so it's tripple sec, lime juice, three olives pomagrante vodka and cranberry juice shaken over ice the poured into a martini glass. My friend shunna got me hooked, instead of ice she uses frozen fruit which makes it that much better. Ok so when your throwing a party that what I would like please. P.s. We know Oprah had them on her show !!

Goals

I am at work on my 30 minute lunch, creating my list of things to do for 2010. It's a habbit I need to get back into. When you write your goals down it's easier to track your progress during the year. When your the majority of your day light hours are spent at work it's very easy to get lazy and make excuses why you can't do something. You know those things like doctors appointments and the dentist or those phone calls that need to be made. 2010 is going to be a year of completion. We are going to start tasks and finish them.

As you can see I have not been writing as much as I planned, My promise to my self is that I will write more. Lets see, so far school is going well but working and taking classes is not easy. I am always so tired and work is just not what it use to do. I don't have that zest for it like I did a couple of years ago. I find my self day dreaming and focused on other things that should be completed but aren't because of my blasted 10 hour a day schedule. That is work, Now my personal life isn't any better. Is commitment such a hard thing for people? I wish I could erase the word love from my vocabulary. It is the most utterly ridiculous word to me right now !! The only thing I guess positive out of this whole situation is I was able to use that for some good writing else where.

Control Please

Oh my has this week sucked major ass. Where do I start; lets see work is very overwhelming, let me tell you why? I am use to structure in my day. I have a routine that must occur in order for me to feel in control of my activities at work. I come in and fill prescriptions that must be picked up by a specific time. To me working in a pharmacy the most important thing to get done is making sure orders are filled in a timely manner. During the late morning the order comes in and I check in all the drugs that have arrived, I also fill those drugs that we owe to a consumer on a previous day. The whole time I am answering questions from should I take this ( which I deflect to the pharmacist) to where can I find this. I am not only the miracle technician I am also the cashier and store tour guide and personal shopper just to name a few hats I wear during my day. Bitching about work is not even my style which is the crazy thing about this blog. I could go on and on for days about the negative aspects about my job. Today's lesson from my blog will be about how to control your life and your destiny. We are going to be that change our lives are looking for. I for one and going to update my resume and look for a gig that fits me and is not so consumer driven. I can deal with people in small doses but I won't work where I am being disrespected and the company polices support it. When your unhappy with a situation you are in whether it's your man, woman, or your job my advice is MOVE THE HELL ON.

Judgment

I am gonna start this entry off like this; I was raised well. Not that I am a perfect person, but my parents did a good job; giving me the foundations I need to survive in life. The reason I am even mentioning any of this is because I feel we take a lot in our lives for granted. The way I talk and who I was raised around has helped me become the man I am today.
In professional environments I thrive not just because I am smart but because of my grasp on the English language. No I am not being boastful("smelling my-self") I am just thankful because the world is so judgmental as it is and when you can;t even speak English well, they will just write you off. Sitting in the orientation for my class I tried to remain silent as much as possible so I can just take it all in. It all being: the people around the table, my fellow classmates with whom I shall be spending the next year with.
I passed my usual judgments but I will wait till I meet and wok with each of them to form my real opinion of the people they are. I always laugh to myself when someone says they don't judge people on the first glance of a stranger. Lies !!!! , we are humans its what we do, almost like a defense mechanism. Overall I think this is gonna be a good class for me and get me into the career path that I want to be in.

New Chapters

OK so its been a while since my last post, I know. I have been working on a few things to better myself and to inch closer to a dream of mine. Tonight I have my first class, which I am nervous about. I am not in a self pity type of mind set but I wanna do well and ace this thing. I feel that While I have been in my 20's I have yet to complete something that benefits me as its end result. Lord willing I will be their every Friday and Saturday giving it my all and then some. This is just One chapter of my life that I have started to write.
The next chapter is a sibling moving far away, which make me sad. My sister and I have had our differences but her living back home for these two months have made me realize how much I like her personality. As tough as she tries to act she is still very emotional, I guess life in this household must have not been easy for her emotions since we Turners tend to bottle it all up and keep our true feeling even private from one another. I hope she finds success and Happiness in Atlanta. The section of this chapter would deal with my brother its weird him turning thirty today. I guess I just never pictured this day would be here so fast. Time just keeps going and for me it means I'll be thirty in 4 years.
Fall is my season to grow, I always just feel more energy in the fall. I hope for all that has occurred since I last posted nothing but good and positive things are in store for My Family, Friends, and My Self

Motivation

It is 1:55am and I am still wide awake ! and I have no clue why that is. I have been checking out other peoples blogs just to get some motivation as to what types of things people wanna read. This lead me to a thought I always have, and that is what is it I am to be doing with my life? Growing up I was so sure that I knew what I wanted to be. I wanted to be a lawyer plan and simple. Well life had other plans? or I got side tracked? I mean to say some time around 2004 I lost my footing in life and track of goals I had wanted to complete for my self by a certain age. I guess my be my fathers death did affect me more then I lead on to other people and mainly my friends. It's just amazing how life events and jack up your life. I guess the real reason I am writing this is because I feel like another major life change is on the horizon and it requires me to step further into my adult shoes and find my own way. Moving out is becoming a closer reality then I feel I am ready for, but may be this is the motivation I need to jump start my life. I love the people I get to work with and I am thankful for employment, But I hate my job and I was born for a higher purpose then to fill prescription's and deal with rude people all day. I want more cause I know their is more and God intends for me to have more and do more and be more in Life. You know what I think He expects it from us all.

So I created this blog to voice my opinions on anything that I thought was interesting. I wanted to take a few weeks to debate in my mind and draft on paper the flow of this blog and how the content would be presented to those people who cared to read(YOU) my blog. My first entry was going to be on the Cultural Revolution of 1979, To connect that to the events in Iran this past month with the outcome of their recent election. These controversy around the election results seem to have started the rumblings of REVOLUTION, Which I find so interesting. More to Follow on this....

Michael Jackson

(1958 - 2009)

This afternoon we learned of the loss of arguably The Greatest Entertainer of Our Time, and Possibly all Time Michael Jackson. My first memory of Michael Jackson would be back in 1987 or 1988 when my mother purchased Moon Walker which starts with a run down of Michael's career up to the late 80's. I remember my watching this with my brother and sister all the time. We watched it so much I started to hate the movie. The best part of the movie was that it was like one giant music video for Micheal's Bad Album, and from this album came his greatest ballad in my opinion "Man In the Mirror". In the Movie when they play and mix of his performances of this song from his world tour you got goose bumps watching, Everybody remembers those fans scream Michael !! very loud trying to get his attention and then passing the hell out from being so excited at just seeing him in person. We all have our own memories of Michael Jackson. The one great thing we can take from his life is the amazing music he created and what a show was suppose to look like. From his dancing to his music videos all of this we have to remember him
